System Administrator

Our System Administrator is responsible for the continued operation of ATG technology by gathering information to prevent problems and working to improve system performance. The System Administrator troubleshoots hardware and software issues and liaise with ATG vendors when needed.

The System Administrator is expected to help prevent service interruptions and effectively protect the ATG network by staying up to date on the latest industry methods and technology. In addition, the System Administrator assists with providing day to day IT support for the organization.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization technologies.
  • Lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts, ensuring all desktop applications, work stations, and related equipment issues are resolved with limited disruptions.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues.
  • Ensure the security and efficiency of IT infrastructure.
  • Use software packing and automation tools for end-user application installations and to create a standard desktop environment.
  • Provide moves, adds, and changes as necessary to support business requirements.
  • Maintain security with the deployment of updates, patches, and with implementing proper permissions.
  • Perform risk assessments and tests of data processing systems.
  • Install firewalls, data encryption, and other security measures.
  • Troubleshoot all suspicious activity on computers and network.
  • Manage a layered security approach to protect company email.
  • Recommend security enhancements and purchases for the organization.
  • Support desktop and network audit and compliance remediation and reporting.

Qualifications and Position Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of local area networking concepts, cabling, infrastructure, and routing.
  • Experience implementing and securing enterprise workstations running Microsoft Windows operating systems.
  • Knowledge of hardware and software, including installation, configuration, and scripting methodologies.
  • Active Directory Administration experience.
  • Office 365 experience.
  • Experience managing enterprise-level anti-virus/malware tools. Including detection, prevention, and elimination.
  • Experience administering through Group Policy.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Cloud Services.
  • Excellent customer service skills and professional telephone etiquette.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines in a team environment.
  • Ability to work overtime as business demands require.
  • Travel to other offices as needed.
  • Other duties as required.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • A four year degree in information technology or similar field is preferred.
  • A minimum of one industry standard security certificate is required.
  • At least five years of experience building, implementing, and securing enterprise-level systems.
