Senior Closing Officer

The Senior Closing Officer is an ambassador for ATG who interacts with real estate professionals and customers, prepares documents required by lenders, and conducts closings. 

This position also provides support to our Closing Manager, trains our independent and member closers, and responds to questions from members, lenders, and closers.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • Oversees closings from beginning to end.
  • Conducts closings at ATG and agent offices accurately and professionally.
  • Supports independent and member closers and responds to questions during closings.
  • Verifies the accuracy of all closing documents, ensures documents are properly executed, and ensures proper checks are disbursed and distributed to appropriate party.
  • Collaborates with Title Production Department and Title Agents to resolve title issues.
  • Sends documents and checks to title agents and customers via US mail, email, fax, and overnight delivery.
  • Prepares documents for recording and electronically records documents where appropriate.
  • Coordinates mail-away closings between ATG, the parties to the transaction, and outside notaries.
  • Accommodates split closing requests and assist with the seller-side closing.
  • Acts as liaison between lenders, agents, and other ATG staff.
  • Assists Post Closing Department with village paperwork for transfer stamp purchase.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations and lender requirements.
  • Resolves post-closing issues that arise.
  • Assists Closing Services Manager with training of Independent and Member Closers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Position Requirements

  • Ability to critically analyze the vast array of documents and information provided in lender closing packages.
  • In-depth knowledge of Closing Disclosures and other closing documents.
  • Understanding of ATG's procedures and underwriting guidelines.
  • Notary Public.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Attention to detail with accurate data entry skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work under pressure with compressed deadlines in a team environment.
  • Above average computer skills including Microsoft Office products, REsource, ResWare, and other ATG programs.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work overtime as business demands require.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Minimum of three years' experience closing residential purchase transactions and refinance transactions.
  • In-depth knowledge of title procedures, underwriting, searching, title-related documents and closing processes.
